Thank you to Apple, Steve Jobs, and SEGA for bringing Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic Spinball, and Sonic CD to every iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad ever made!

These are some of the best games ever made.

I've played Sonic 2 for over 20 years of my life and it's still great every time.

Unfortunately, with newer versions of iOS and newer updates to each app, as of at least 2017 it has become impossible to download all of these apps from the official App Store on an iPod Touch running iOS 4 or lower.

People who paid for these games can download them on all of their devices, except iOS 3 and iOS 4 devices.

Most people won't have the 2010/2011 IPA files saved from their iTunes folder by now because they probably updated their app and then backed up their device, which overwrote the IPA in their iTunes folder with a newer one that can't be used on iOS 3 or 4.

It should be possible to play these on unjailbroken devices IF you have bought the game in the past and IF the plist file (and possibly other stuff in the IPA) are modified to match your Apple ID.

This torrent is provided as a public service to restore vital and enjoyable apps to older iOS 3 and iOS 4 devices like the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 1G, iPod Touch 2G.

This torrent should also help people with newer devices if the App Store eventually ends downloads for these apps on iOS 5 to 7

Sonic 1 v1.2.6 and Sonic 2 v1.2.15 run the fastest on an iPod Touch 2G w/iOS 4.2.1
iTunesMetadata.plist is the file which has the field for the Apple ID. Some of these IPA files may not have that specific file, but you can "rebuild" one based on the other IPA's iTunesMetadata.plist
If anyone is stuck on iOS 2.2.1 - then "Sonic 1 v1.0.0" will work for you. It should also be possible to swap out the "rom.bin" file of Sonic 1 for Sonic 2 and thus play Sonic 2 on iOS 2.2.1 - to make it work correctly, you'll have the edit the plist files to have a different name than "Sonic 1" (so that both apps will be on the device instead of overwriting)
